Images of Nursing: “I’m just a nurse”

Excellent short video on the public image of nurses and nurse stereotypes produced by Digital Education Strategies at The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education, Ryerson University here in Toronto. Best line at 9:35: “I think what doesn’t help is nurses who don’t take themselves seriously.”

GREAT video and great message. The ‘just a nurse’ colloquialism has been echoed by many fellow bloggers – both from the nursing community and the medical community.
It’s all about what you think about your profession, your career, your choices and your presence. We are what we say sometimes.

This is true of any job out there. Excellent post.
No matter who you are, you must bring 100% to the job you do.
My favourite video is the one of the garbage man who knew my granddaughter was watching. He danced on the back of that truck and made a little girl very happy! There are no small jobs. You must give your whole heart to your work, whether it be lauded, paid, or not.
