Fun and games in Peterborough. I think file this under B for “Bizarro”.
A 68-year-old man faces many charges after a nurse was harassed and an ostomy bag was thrown at her, city police said.
Police said a man receiving medical treatment at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre Wednesday refused to co-operate with the nurse when the treatment finished.
He harassed nurses and made threats, police said, and the nurse feared for her safety.
As she was leaving the area he threw his ostomy bag at her, creating a biohazard that interfered with the use of the treatment room.
A warrant was issued for the man’s arrest on charges of criminal harassment, assault with a weapon and mischief, police said, and at about 9:30 p. m. Saturday he was found on Hospital Dr.
Dart is a former Peterborough Pete, having played with the Ontario Hockey League team in the late 1950s. The Examiner recently caught up with Dart and later this week will feature a look at what his life is like now.
Lets see: lob a bag of feces at a nurse, get charged with all sorts of things, including assault with a weapon — and be rewarded with a feature write-up in the local paper?
Oh, I get it. He was a hockey player. So it’s not really his fault.
And this being Canada, and hockey the national religion, all is forgiven.
