Got Mine. Got Yours?

The flu shot, that is.

I got mine yesterday. And no, I did not get any flu-like symptoms. So get it over it, and go get the shot. Now. Especially if you’re a health care professional. What I wrote during the glory days of H1N1 two years ago still applies:

Finally, I won’t tell you to get the vaccine, because it’s professional, or that the hospital is making you anyway, or because it’s the right thing to do, or because you’re saving yourself the misery of having the flu for a week or two, though these are all more or less valid reasons. However, getting the shot will prevent you from being a complete tool when you pass the virus to someone compromised — maybe even one of your colleagues, a patient or even, God forbid, a loved one —  and end up killing them. I think this argument is nearly irrefutable.
So in summary: don’t be a tool. Get the shot.

Don’t make me nag you. Because you know I will.

I think people are resistant are stupid. There are peoPle in my RT department who say I won’t take it. They can’t make me. – stupid now they have to wear a surgical masks when in patient care areas until April.

Got mine yesterday. First time in 2 years — I am now back in civilization after
spending two years in a rural Village of the Damned. Both winters I was wretchedly
ill in a community WITHOUT any health care professional available —
the phamacist “looked after” the local sickies.
Yeah, sort of like the Ozarks aka eastern Ontario.
This year, not going to get sick!

Got mine, always get mine. I work in Community Health. Tired of harassing people to get theirs. My husband has taken over for me. “My wife, an RN says…” and he goes on about herd immunity, personal responsibility, and killed virus, etc, etc. My hero.
